Job Responsibilities Benefits Available Day One | C Shift Location: Liberty, MO Magna is seeking a Welding Engineer to support welding operations, process development, equipment optimization, and continuous improvement initiatives within a high-volume automotive manufacturing environment. This role works closely with Production, Maintenance, Engineering, and Quality teams to ensure welding processes meet customer specifications while improving safety, quality, throughput, and reliability. What You'll Do Support and optimize resistance welding, projection welding, and GMAW welding processesTroubleshoot welding, quality, and production issues through root cause analysis and corrective actionsDevelop, maintain, and improve weld documentation, standards, and process controlsLead continuous improvement initiatives to improve weld quality, process capability, and production throughputSupport equipment installation, integration, commissioning, and process validation activitiesPerform welder setup, weld parameter development, consumable life studies, weld lobe development, and schedule optimizationPerform basic robot programming and weld touch-ups as neededAudit welding processes and maintain weld setup sheets and process documentationWork with cross-functional teams to develop PFMEAs, Control Plans, Process Flows, and standardized workSupport manufacturing launches, engineering changes, customer requirements, and project execution from design through production Qualifications Post-secondary education in Welding Engineering, Welding Technology, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related technical field preferred1-2 years of resistance welding experience in a manufacturing environment requiredExperience with projection welding, resistance welding, and GMAW welding processesWorking knowledge of GD&T, SPC, and welding quality standardsExperience with PFMEA, Control Plans, APQP, mistake-proofing (Poka-Yoke), and continuous improvement methodologiesAbility to read and interpret blueprints, welding symbols, technical drawings, and engineering specificationsExperience with CAD software and Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, PowerPoint, and ProjectStrong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneouslyEffective communication skills and the ability to work with customers, vendors, and cross-functional teams Benefits Benefits Available Day OneHealth, Dental, and Vision InsurancePaid Vacation and Holidays401(k)Profit Sharing (eligibility requirements apply)Tuition ReimbursementEmployee Referral ProgramLife Insurance and AD&D Coverage Apply today to join Magna's team in Liberty, Missouri.
