Responsibilities
- Support the Asset Integrity and Pipeline Safety team by performing technical tasks related to welding procedures, anomaly assessment calculations, and materials verification.
- Assist with analysis and documentation necessary to maintain the integrity and regulatory compliance of the pipeline system.
- Provide technical leadership for pipeline welding and non-destructive examination to support pipeline integrity, operations, maintenance, and capital projects.
- Ensure safe, reliable, and compliant operation of pipeline and facility assets across the organization.
- Provide technical support for pipeline welding, fabrication, inspection, and NDE, during pipeline construction, maintenance, operations, and repair activities.
- Develop, review, and approve Welding Procedure Specifications (WPSs), Prequalified Welders Qualification Samples (PQRs), and welder qualifications.
- Develop and update company welding and NDE specifications, procedures, and manuals.
- Conduct welding and NDE audits of vendors, contractors, fabrication facilities, and construction activities.
- Review and approve welding and NDE documentation including WPSs, PQRs, welder qualifications, fabrication drawings, and NDE specifications.
- Support pipeline integrity programs through anomaly assessments and repair evaluations.
- Drive implementation of industry best practices and ensure compliance with new regulations and industry standards.
Requirements
- Working knowledge of welding processes (SMAW, GMAW, SAW, FCAW, GTAW) and NDE inspection techniques (RT, UT, MT, PT).
- Working knowledge of API 1104, ASME Section IX, and other related welding and inspection standards.
- Ability to evaluate technical data, develop technical recommendations, and support engineering assessments.
- Detail-oriented with strong problem solving, written and verbal communication skills.
- Willingness and ability to travel up to 20% to field locations and vendor/contractor facilities as required.
Qualifications
- BS in Welding Engineering, Welding Engineering Technology, Materials Engineering, Metallurgy, or related discipline.
- Minimum 2 years of experience supporting midstream pipeline operations including pipeline construction, inspection, manufacturing/fabrication methods.
- AWS Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) and/or other related certifications.
- Experience conducting anomaly assessments (ASME B31G, RSTRENG), and evaluating pipeline repair methods.
