Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Lay out, position, and secure parts and assemblies according to specifications, using straightedge, combination square, calipers, and ruler
• Observe tests on welded surfaces, such as hydrostatic, x-ray, and dimension tolerance
• Develops templates or tooling and other work aids to hold and align parts
• Determines required equipment and welding methods, applying knowledge of metallurgy, geometry, and welding techniques
• Examines finished products and spare parts and compares them with samples to check whether the specifications are met
• Inspects grooves, angles, or gap allowances, using measuring instruments
• Welds metal, such as fusing metal segments, using gas tungsten arc, metal arc, flux-cored arc, plasma arc, and other types of welding arcs

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• 7+ years of experience in TIG, MIG, and Tack-weld (TIG welding preferred)
• Excellent people skills, with an ability to partner with a dynamic leadership team
• Personal qualities of integrity, credibility, and a commitment to the mission
• Ability to weld components in flat, vertical, or overhead positions
• Lift objects up to 50 pounds throughout the day
• Wear required personal protective equipment (PPE)
• Reading blueprints and performing all necessary measurements
