Responsibilities
- Receives instructions, interprets requirements and performs operations required to build quality product.
- Operates robotic weld machine, maintaining schedule adherence and required level of quality.
- Determines operational problems affecting robot performance and informs supervisor.
- Performs minor robot program adjustments to assure equipment performs at optimum level.
- Assembles, welds, tests, and prepares assigned products according to procedures.
- Interprets and utilizes correct filler materials, gases, amperage, voltage, interpass temperatures, and other parameters as designated.
- Maintains required set up joint tolerances and final unit dimensional and orientation tolerances.
- Identifies parts with contract, model number, heat number, part number or other markings as directed.
- Verifies material correctness (quality, type, etc.) before starting work.
- Obtains necessary material, fixtures, and tools for assigned duties.
- Rigs and operates cranes, forklift trucks, hand carts, etc. to move parts and units within or between departments.
- Pre-cleans and post-cleans work using grinding, sanding, chipping, or other suitable means to ensure final product meets all code, procedure, and drawing requirements.
- Ensures tank cleanliness per specification, customer requirement, and/or procedure prior to painting.
- Prepares and mounts nameplates to units and prepares tanks as required prior to painting.
- Enters clock number, heat numbers, or other required data on paperwork or electronic systems to indicate work compliance and record output.
- Maintains qualifications by utilizing the weld/braze processes at appropriate intervals.
- Verifies gauge and tool calibration dates.
- Lubricates and cleans tools/equipment daily.
- Performs daily safety checks on power vehicles, cranes, etc. and records findings.
- Wears, cleans, and properly maintains required personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Participates in personal air and noise sampling when directed.
- Places inventory in proper location and reports shortages or other inventory issues to supervisor.
- Assists and/or trains new employees in job classification.
- Maintains required level of housekeeping and safe environment throughout work area(s).
- Immediately notifies supervisor of any unsafe conditions or work-related injuries.
- Performs 5S activities.
Qualifications
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- Documented successful completion of formal weld training involving the required weld process.
- Passes qualification test: Process: GMAW, Material: Steel.
- Competent in reading, interpreting drawings, and performing simple math calculations (addition, subtraction, division, and multiplication).
Physical Demands
- Lifting (30-35 lbs.).
- Sitting or standing, reaching, bending, moving about the facility.
- Listening, talking, and seeing employees on a daily basis.
Work Environment
- Typical Manufacturing environment.
Pay Rate
$33.19/hour plus shift differential.
