    Responsibilities

Essential Functions list: - Ensures that established company policies and procedures are followed. - Makes operational decisions on how best to safely and productively run the department. - Schedules production on a daily basis to ensure work orders are completed in a timely manner and readjusts the production schedule when expedites are needed. - Meets with Leads daily to discuss the current needs of the department and meets with other employees as needed. - Communicates with the Expedite Planner to discuss priority coolers that need to be produced each day. - Communicates with the Supervisor for the CAB and Prep departments to determine when cores will be transported from the Prep department to the Weld department. - Receives daily production reports from each employee, reviews work orders to ensure they are appropriately completed, and provides the reports to the Data Entry Assistant in the manufacturing office. - Approves employee time punches on a daily basis. - Ensures the entire department is clean at the end of each shift. - Reports any issues to the Production Manager or appropriate personnel as soon as they are detected. - Maintains thorough knowledge of all types of welding and the equipment used in the department. - Adheres to all policies, procedures, and requirements set forth in AKG’s Environmental Management System (EMS). - Maintains regular physical attendance as required for this position, following AKG attendance policy in the Employee Information Handbook. Written reviews are completed for employees annually. - Assigns new employees to an experienced trainer, oversees that the training is productive, and ensures that the employee is capable of performing the job.
