Welder
- Read blueprints, weld symbols, and work instructions to produce welded assemblies.
- Fixture, tack, and weld steel components using MIG welding equipment.
- Select proper welding equipment, voltage, and wire speed for quality welds.
- Perform visual weld inspections and basic quality checks.
- Gather materials and components needed for each job.
- Operate forklifts and hand tools to move materials and finished goods.
- Record production data in the ERP system (work orders, quantities, routing).
- Perform light maintenance on equipment and maintain a clean work area.
- Cross-train on additional production equipment and processes.
Robotic Welder Operator
- Load parts into robotic welding fixtures and secure them properly.
- Start and monitor robotic welding programs.
- Inspect welded parts for quality and consistency.
- Make minor robot program adjustments such as touch-ups or position edits.
- Perform light touch-up welding when needed.
- Set weld parameters such as voltage and wire speed.
- Maintain robotic welding cells and keep equipment organized and efficient.
Robotic Grinding Operator
- Operate and support a robotic grinding system used to finish welded parts to print.
- Grind, blend, and finish welds to meet print, cosmetic, and functional requirements.
- Perform robot touch-ups and make adjustments at the controller.
- Load, unload, and fixture parts for robotic processing.
- Support basic welding as needed for rework or preparation.
- Maintain cleanliness and proper material separation to prevent contamination.
- Follow dust control and housekeeping standards across materials.
- Work closely with Engineering and Manufacturing to improve quality and consistency.
- Learn robotic operation, safety procedures, and basic troubleshooting.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- 1+ years welding experience OR welding technical school training.
- Ability to read blueprints and follow work instructions.
- Ability to safely operate welding and fabrication equipment.
- Basic math and measuring skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Comfortable using computers and production software.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs occasionally.
- Willfulness to learn robotic welding systems.
