What Will You Do?

  • Welds on various materials in required positions using multiple welding processes-including, but not limited to: GTAW, SMAW, FCAW, GMAW, and SAW- to fabricate piping as designed.
  • Performs work associated with installation, calibration, and operation of different types of production machines, depending on company specialization or materials used.
  • Tests and inspects machines to determine safe and efficient operation, performs routine maintenance, and fixes standard malfunctions.
  • Reads and interprets blueprints, engineering specifications, and shop orders to determine machine setup, production methods, and sequence of operation.
  • Checks that items produced pass quality control tests.
  • Lay out, position, fit and weld various piping and structural components, including pipes, flanges, fittings, valves, piping supports, structural plates, beams, etc., in accordance with the supplied piping/structural fabrication drawings.
  • Set up, troubleshoot, and operate welding machines according to job specifications and welding procedures.
  • Adjust valves, gauges, and flames as needed and be capable of handling compressed gas and oxygen cylinders safely.
  • Operate air arc, gouger, grinder, and other industry machines, tools, and equipment.
  • Participate in JSA's and all other Safety, Health and Environmental Processes.

Your Physical Work Environment Will Require...

  • Regularly stand, walk, sit, use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls, reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
  • Occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
  • Regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
  • Regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts, electrical shock, wet and/or humid conditions, fumes or airborne particles, vibration, and loud noise.
  • Regularly exposed to dust, dirt, and other environmental hazards.

Qualifications

  • Pipe welding certification
  • Ability to perform welding on various materials at required positions using different welding processes, including, but not limited to, GTAW, SMAW, FCAW, GMAW and SAW
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • At least 2 years of related experience
  • Basic math skills
  • Attention to detail essential
  • Ability to lift and move heavy objects
  • Proven ability to identify and solve basic to moderate level problems
  • Overtime and weekend hours, as needed
  • Familiarity with ISO procedures
  • Experience using blueprints and design sketches
  • Certification in Pipe welding
