What Will You Do?
- Welds on various materials in required positions using multiple welding processes-including, but not limited to: GTAW, SMAW, FCAW, GMAW, and SAW- to fabricate piping as designed.
- Performs work associated with installation, calibration, and operation of different types of production machines, depending on company specialization or materials used.
- Tests and inspects machines to determine safe and efficient operation, performs routine maintenance, and fixes standard malfunctions.
- Reads and interprets blueprints, engineering specifications, and shop orders to determine machine setup, production methods, and sequence of operation.
- Checks that items produced pass quality control tests.
- Lay out, position, fit and weld various piping and structural components, including pipes, flanges, fittings, valves, piping supports, structural plates, beams, etc., in accordance with the supplied piping/structural fabrication drawings.
- Set up, troubleshoot, and operate welding machines according to job specifications and welding procedures.
- Adjust valves, gauges, and flames as needed and be capable of handling compressed gas and oxygen cylinders safely.
- Operate air arc, gouger, grinder, and other industry machines, tools, and equipment.
- Participate in JSA's and all other Safety, Health and Environmental Processes.
Your Physical Work Environment Will Require...
- Regularly stand, walk, sit, use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls, reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
- Occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
- Regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
- Regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts, electrical shock, wet and/or humid conditions, fumes or airborne particles, vibration, and loud noise.
- Regularly exposed to dust, dirt, and other environmental hazards.
Qualifications
- Pipe welding certification
- Ability to perform welding on various materials at required positions using different welding processes, including, but not limited to, GTAW, SMAW, FCAW, GMAW and SAW
- High school diploma or equivalent
- At least 2 years of related experience
- Basic math skills
- Attention to detail essential
- Ability to lift and move heavy objects
- Proven ability to identify and solve basic to moderate level problems
- Overtime and weekend hours, as needed
- Familiarity with ISO procedures
- Experience using blueprints and design sketches
- Certification in Pipe welding
