Welder I (MIG/TIG Aluminum)
What a Day in the Life
Read blueprints and perform shop math converting fraction to decimal to layout, fabricate and weld various parts and assemblies.
Perform all manner of welding procedures as prescribed in AWS and ASME publications for MIG and STICK welding (SMAW) on multiple types of metals in vertical, horizontal, and overhead positions (REVO will require a heavy concentration of MIG Welding Aluminum).
Use grinder, sander, rivet guns, saws and other air tools, as well as read English, imperial (standard) tape measures and use measuring devices to convert fraction to decimal.
Inspect welds for cracks, burn through and weld spatter, lack of fusion, craters
Understand and carry out verbal and written directions in English
Required Education, Skills And Experiences
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
- Two years of experience in welding using Mig or Tig welding machines
- Must pass and maintain in house AWS Welder Certification
- Must have general knowledge of OSHA and EPA standards
Physical Demands
- Frequent bending, stooping, squatting, and climbing in and out of buses.
- Ability to regularly lift and/or move up to 40 lbs. without assistance.
- Ability to work with arms above head.
- Ability to work from ladders or scaffolding.
- Must not be allergic to smoke, grinding and fiberglass dust.
- Ability to work in 105-degree heat for excess of ten (10) hours per day.
- Overtime may be required based on business needs.
