As a Welder at our Medway facility, you will interpret blueprints, perform layout work, and set up welding equipment to complete high-quality welds across a variety of materials and configurations.
Responsibilities
- Interpret blueprints and collaborate with the lead person to confirm job requirements.
- Gather necessary materials and perform layout work according to specifications.
- Set up welding machines and adjust settings for various applications.
- Weld steel, aluminum, copper, and other materials in multiple positions and joint configurations.
- Inspect welds for quality, repairing defective joints as needed.
- Operate cutting torches and manual plasma cutters when required.
- Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work area by performing regular housekeeping duties.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Experience in utilizing cutting torches, brushes, pads, buffers, grinders, overhead cranes, and rubber hammers.
- One year of welding experience.
- Prior knowledge of setting up welding machines and adjusting settings.
- Ability to read tape measures and blueprints.
- Ability to properly operate welding equipment.
- Team members must be able to safely perform a range of physical activities, including standing and walking for extended periods, with frequent use of hands for tasks requiring dexterity and grip.
- Roles may require frequent bending, kneeling, and maintaining balance, with occasional climbing or repositioning to support production needs.
- This position is classified as medium work, requiring the ability to lift, carry, or move materials up to 50 lbs occasionally, 30 lbs frequently, and 10 lbs consistently.
- Employees must be able to effectively communicate, hear, and visually assess work to ensure quality, safety, and accuracy in a manufacturing environment.
- Work is performed in a manufacturing setting that may not be climate-controlled and can include exposure to varying temperatures.
Qualifications

Pay
Depending on the position offered, employee may be eligible for other forms of compensation, such as annual incentives. Pay Transparency nVent’s pay scale is based on the expected range of base pay for this job and the employee’s work location. Employee pay within this range will be based on a combination of factors including knowledge, skills, abilities, experience, education, and performance. Where federal, state, or local minimum wage requirements exist, employee pay will comply. Compensation Range $16.30 - $30.20 Per Hour.
Schedule
Hours are typically Monday through Friday, with occasional overtime as needed.
