About the Role

Eriez is seeking a Welder to join the team at the Wager Road facility. The welder will assemble component parts according to blueprints or schematics, verify quantities and quality, manage parts inventory, and use hand tools and mechanical equipment to produce structurally sound products and structures. The role supports customer satisfaction by ensuring safe, reliable operation of Eriez equipment.

Responsibilities

• Assemble products or sub‑assemblies using MIG, TIG, Stick, and Flux‑cored Arc Welding.
• Weld components in vertical, flat, or overhead positions.
• Set welding machine parameters (wire feed, amperage, etc.).
• Prepare, assemble, fit, and tack‑weld parts and surfaces.
• Perform sanitary welding tasks efficiently.
• Plan work order procedures and gather required tools and materials.
• Monitor welding, burning, and fitting processes to prevent overheating, warping, distortion, expansion, or shrinkage.
• Operate overhead cranes, clamping devices, plasma cutter, and carbon arc.
• May operate power equipment such as forklifts.
• Maintain a clean and safe work area.
• Complete tasks timely and efficiently as directed by the supervisor.
• Operate hand tools, manual machine tools, torch, drill press, etc.
• Learn and use Eriez labor and work order collection system.
• Notify supervisor of faulty equipment or defective materials.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

• High school diploma preferred.
• Ability to read, write, and comprehend English.
• Basic computer usage knowledge.
• Ability to read tape measures, blueprints, and schematics.
• Welding technology degree/certificate or 2+ years of applicable welding experience (degree in process may be considered).
• AWS D‑1.1 certification preferred.
• Ability to identify stainless steel, aluminum, mild steel, and other materials.
• Proficiency in reading and interpreting engineering drawings and performing basic shop math.
• Thorough understanding of welding machines and tools, including design, use, maintenance, and repair.
• Basic understanding of design techniques and tools for producing technical plans, drawings, models, and blueprints.
• Excellent ability to follow assignments given in various forms.
• Pass a pre‑employment occupational physical.
• Ability to recognize and avoid safety hazards and wear personal protective equipment for extended periods.
• Physical ability to lift up to 50 lb, traverse facilities, climb, balance, walk, stoop, and carry materials; alternate between sitting and standing; remain active for long periods without excessive fatigue.
• Manual dexterity, stability, and close‑range vision (with or without corrective lenses) for precision work.
• Effective communication with coworkers.
• Adaptability to a dynamic work environment.
• Ability to safely push and pull as needed for job duties.

Pay

Hourly Pay Range: $22.00 – $25.00 per hour.
