Key Responsibilities
- Aid in performing welding tasks under supervision using GMAW and FCAW processes.
- Prepare materials, set up welding equipment, and clean weld joints.
- Learn to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
- Operate crane, forklift and band saws.
- Support fabrication, assembly, and repair of metal components.
- Inspect welds for quality and accuracy with guidance from senior welders.
- Maintain tools and work area in a clean, safe, and organized condition.
- Follow all safety protocols, including the use of PPE and adherence to NOV and OSHA standards.
- Participate in ongoing training and skill development opportunities.
Qualifications
- A high school diploma or equivalent (GED) is preferred.
- A basic understanding of welding techniques and tools is preferred (either through school or on-the-job training).
- Demonstrated commitment to safety and quality workmanship is required.
- A strong willingness to learn and take direction from experienced welders is essential.
- The ability to lift and move up to 50lb materials safely is necessary.
- A reliable, punctual, and team-oriented attitude is important.
- Completion of a welding trade program or certification course (such as AWS) is preferred.
- Hands-on welding experience (from an internship, school project, or entry-level role) is beneficial.
- Familiarity with basic fabrication tools and measurement equipment is helpful.
