Welder (Days/Nights/Weekends) - Entry level pay starting at $22/hr + Night/Weekend Shift Differential

Key Responsibilities

  • Use standard work instructions and blueprints when available
  • Visually inspect weld quality
  • Fabricates and assembles metal structures
  • Weld components using manual or semi-automatic welding equipment in various positions (vertical, horizontal, or overhead)
  • Facilitate and assist in the fabrication and assembly of metal structures
  • Perform efficient welding of various metal objects with help of gas torch and welder
  • Rework and/or repair welded parts and products according to engineering specification changes
  • Complete run out checks
  • Fit wheels and fans with limited supervision
  • Maintain weld machines using preventative maintenance methods
  • Maintain good housekeeping and clean work areas in assigned space

Qualifications

  • Typically requires a high school diploma and up to 2 years of experience
  • Read and understand shop orders and blueprints, safety rules, standard work instructions
  • Ability to read and comprehend all weld symbols
  • Complete documentation and work in a timely manner
  • Able to use hand tools in a safe and proper manner as well as read a tape measure

Additional Duties

  • Based on department, may be required to operate a forklift, overhead crane, and electric pallet jack

  • JSA completion
  • Forklift Operations
  • PPE identification and usage
  • Crane Training
  • Hazard awareness/identification
  • Lift table operations
  • Rigging safety
  • Understand SQDE Metrics, LDMS, Issue boards, 5S

Physical Demands/Working Conditions

  • Continuous lifting/moving up to 50 pounds
  • Frequent lifting/moving up to 25 pounds
  • Occasional lifting/moving up to 10 pounds

Work Environment

  • Continuous exposure to moving mechanical parts and extreme heat
  • Occasional exposure to high places, fumes, or airborne particles and/or caustic chemicals
  • Noise level in the work environment is usually loud
