Essential Functions Of The Job

  • Focus, communicate, encourage and contribute to Safety in all aspects of the job and all company meetings.
  • Works safely in all aspects of daily duties and assignments with safe work procedures and practice good housekeeping to ensure safety of him/herself and others.
  • Adjusts and operates welding equipment to perform non-critical welds on fabricated parts and subassemblies.
  • Maintains production quantities, efficiencies and quality on parts welded.
  • Set up and loads fabricated parts or subassemblies into jigs and fixtures.
  • Prepares the surface to be welded by grinding, buffing or brushing so the weld can be performed.
  • Visually examines welds for adherence to blueprint specifications.
  • Maintains welding equipment and makes adjustments on equipment to prepare it to weld different parts or subassemblies when changing from one part to the other.
  • Loads and unloads fixtures.
  • Performs simple measurements using devices or gauges to check work.
  • May skip weld designed parts to secure pieces for other welders.
  • Set-up, adjusts and operates welding equipment to spot or seam weld parts and subassemblies for 3 or more product lines in accordance with blue print specifications.
  • Works from oral or written instructions with little to no supervision.
  • Perform all duties assigned by the Supervisor.

Knowledge, Skills And Abilities (KSA’s)

  • Ability to understand and follow simple instructions.
  • Capable of performing standard measurements.
  • Knowledge of basic procedures of mig welding required.
  • Ability to lift, push or pull 50 pounds alone and 100 pounds with assistance.
  • Must be able to speak, hear and see to perform duties to communicate and build subassemblies.
  • Must be able to demonstrate required knowledge and ability to read blueprints with weld symbols and specifications.
  • Ability to effectively train others.
  • Knowledge of basic procedure of voltage and amp for given requirements.

Education And Experience

  • High School diploma or GED required.
  • 1 year experience in welding required.

  • While performing the duties of this job, will be exposed to a non-climate-controlled manufacturing plant.
  • Must be able to stand approximately 8 hours per day.
  • Must be able to stoop, lift and reach around on a constant basis.
  • Must be able to sit, stand and walk for extended amount of time.
