Essential Functions Of The Job
- Focus, communicate, encourage and contribute to Safety in all aspects of the job and all company meetings.
- Works safely in all aspects of daily duties and assignments with safe work procedures and practice good housekeeping to ensure safety of him/herself and others.
- Adjusts and operates welding equipment to perform non-critical welds on fabricated parts and subassemblies.
- Maintains production quantities, efficiencies and quality on parts welded.
- Set up and loads fabricated parts or subassemblies into jigs and fixtures.
- Prepares the surface to be welded by grinding, buffing or brushing so the weld can be performed.
- Visually examines welds for adherence to blueprint specifications.
- Maintains welding equipment and makes adjustments on equipment to prepare it to weld different parts or subassemblies when changing from one part to the other.
- Loads and unloads fixtures.
- Performs simple measurements using devices or gauges to check work.
- May skip weld designed parts to secure pieces for other welders.
- Set-up, adjusts and operates welding equipment to spot or seam weld parts and subassemblies for 3 or more product lines in accordance with blue print specifications.
- Works from oral or written instructions with little to no supervision.
- Perform all duties assigned by the Supervisor.
Knowledge, Skills And Abilities (KSA’s)
- Ability to understand and follow simple instructions.
- Capable of performing standard measurements.
- Knowledge of basic procedures of mig welding required.
- Ability to lift, push or pull 50 pounds alone and 100 pounds with assistance.
- Must be able to speak, hear and see to perform duties to communicate and build subassemblies.
- Must be able to demonstrate required knowledge and ability to read blueprints with weld symbols and specifications.
- Ability to effectively train others.
- Knowledge of basic procedure of voltage and amp for given requirements.
Education And Experience
- High School diploma or GED required.
- 1 year experience in welding required.
