Welder -1st Shift

Responsibilities

• Check with department supervisor on machine and job assignments.
• Discuss machine performance and any difficulties with the welder from the preceding shift.
• Set up welding equipment according to specified procedures and requirements.
• Fabricate welding jigs as necessary.
• Create inspection checklists for first-time jobs.
• Conduct and document first-piece inspections and obtain Quality Control approval before proceeding.
• Perform adjustments on machines and/or programs based on inspection results.
• Weld parts, manually or robotically, according to specifications and production requirements.
• Unload and package parts according to EIMCo standards and customer requirements.
• Complete accurate daily records (date, times, quantities, scrap) on Shop Travelers and in the ERP system.
• Follow instructions from all EIMCo documentation, including Shop Traveler, Inspection Sheets, and blueprints.
• Inform Quality Control or shift supervisor of any problems or concerns with parts.
• Accept responsibility for product quality and perform required inspections per the EIMCo Quality Manual.
• Perform preventive maintenance on equipment, monitor for abnormal conditions, and report concerns.
• Maintain a clean and orderly work area, complying with all 5S procedures.
• Conduct all tasks safely and comply with EIMCo Safety Policies, including PPE requirements.
• Maintain all required documentation.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Mechanical skills background required. One to two years of welding experience in a manufacturing setting is preferred but not required. Formal education or experience may be substituted with training when competency is demonstrated.

Working Conditions

This is a safety-sensitive position performed in a manufacturing setting with moderate to high noise levels. The facility temperature varies with outside weather conditions.
