About the role
Join, fabricate and repair metal and other welding material by applying appropriate welding techniques and operating various welding devices.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Interpret blueprints, specifications, diagrams or schematics to determine appropriate welding process.
- Inspect completed welds to determine structural soundness.
- Start up and shut down machines properly.
- Consistently and safely operates machines at or above standards of operation including waste, quality, efficiency and utilization.
- Troubleshoot, identify and correct machine/rack-related problems through proper adjustments to various parts of the machine.
- The ability and flexibility to work in non-welding areas when the situation presents itself.
- Work in a safe and efficient manner using all personal protective, safety equipment and devices that are required, in accordance with all STW documentation (if STW is not developed for any process within this job, proper training techniques must be followed).
- Be actively involved in Continuous Improvement; promote and sustain any and all CI, 5S and STW activities.
- Maintain a safe and clean work environment.
Requirements
The ability to operate welding equipment and perform welding tasks is essential. Must have a valid driver's license and be able to pass a drug test.
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent. Relevant experience in welding or fabrication is preferred.
Skills
Proficiency in welding techniques, including but not limited to arc welding, gas welding, and oxyacetylene welding. Knowledge of safety protocols and procedures is required.
