Eaton’s ES AMER ARS division is seeking a Welder for the 1st shift. Salaries are based upon candidate skills, experience, and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.
Pay
The hourly rate for this position is $24/hr plus a $1/hr shift differential.
Schedule
Hours: 6:00 AM - 2:30 PM

Responsibilities
- Work as part of a manufacturing team to achieve daily goals and objectives in the welding department
- Perform MIG (Metal Inert Gas) and TIG (Tungsten Inert Gas) welding
- Complete work based on manufacturing information, bills of material, written, and/or oral instructions
- Determine necessary parts/inventory, jigs/fixtures, and obtain materials from stock areas using manufacturing information
- Assist other sheet metal fabricators/operators as required
- Deliver material to/from workstations using material handling equipment and position work material on work surfaces
- Ensure correct parts and matching documentation reach the next process in a timely fashion
- Operate spot welders and interface with robotic welding
- Prepare components by wiping, degreasing, de-burring, or grinding
- Dispose of scrap in appropriate containers; documentation/record keeping may be required
- Operate equipment such as spot welders, arc welders, cutting torches, power grinders, power sanders, hand tools, bandsaws, drills, temporary fixturing devices, jigs, and fixtures
- Inspect parts periodically or as directed using manufacturing information such as drawings/blueprints; make necessary adjustments
- Maintain accurate piece counts and other applicable records
- Inform Supervisor of any quality problems
- Maintain equipment, including welding electrodes, oiling/greasing, machine settings, changing tooling, and minor adjustments
- Complete necessary maintenance check sheets and inform Supervisor and/or Maintenance personnel of any problems
- Perform other duties as required, including flexing to other departments
Requirements
- High School diploma or GED from an accredited institution
- Minimum of one (1) year of MIG and TIG welding experience or a technical diploma/certification in welding from an accredited institution
- Candidates must reside within 50 miles of the work location (Active-Duty Military Service member candidates exempt)
- Eaton will not consider applicants requiring immigration sponsorship for this position
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience demonstrating proficiency in welding techniques, shop blueprint/drawing comprehension, and shop math skills
- Minimum of two (2) years of welding experience
Skills
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Ability to read and understand wiring schematics, blueprints, and drawings
- Able to move material using material handling carts (push/pull 50 lbs)
- Able to lift/carry up to 50 lbs
- Team player with the ability to collaborate effectively to complete work assignments per customer orders
- Willingness to participate in training opportunities
