Responsibilities
- Perform welding operations in accordance with manufacturing specifications.
- Interpret drawings and technical data to use in repairs.
- Prepare parts for welding by grinding, machining, and belt sanding.
- Document travelers after operations performed.
- Maintain production standards/quality.
- Ensure compliance with Company IPM/QPM and ISO quality requirements.
- Use calibrated instruments and tooling to perform critical measurements.
- Operate various welding machines such as TIG, MIG, and oxy-acetylene torches.
- Operate spot welders.
- Maintain certification required to weld applicable alloys.
- Comply with all applicable regulatory, customer, and safety requirements.
- Pass an eye examination specific to welders.
- Embrace/implement continuous improvement and lean principles in all activities.
- Maintain department safety and housekeeping standards.
- Ensure compliance with Quality Management Systems (QMS).
- Regular and reliable attendance.
- Adhere to and promote Corporate Code of Ethical Standards.
Qualifications
- Ability to perform qualification welds on 0.040” thick materials in accordance with AWS D17.1 for both fillet and groove welds.
- Ability to read, write, and understand English.
- Ability to accurately interpret blueprints and work in-process documents.
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- Self-motivated with a high level of ownership and accountability.
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Ability to perform frequent lifting, pulling, and pushing.
