Duties and Responsibilities
- Invasive species and hazard tree removal as a sawyer and/or a swamper
- Pesticide application
- In-home water assessments, installation of aerators, shower heads, and toilets
- Promote a strong service ethic while encouraging the development of teambuilding, self-worth, conflict resolution, effective communication, goal setting, and decision making
- Able to abide by WCYCC policies and procedures and maintain safety
Qualifications
- MUST BE 16 – 30 YEARS OLD TO APPLY
- Willing to undergo and must pass required criminal history checks
- Must possess a valid state driver’s license or identification card
- Must be able to pass a drug screening
- U.S. citizen, U.S. National, or lawful permanent resident
- Received or on track to receive high school diploma or GED
- Must be able to pass a drug screening
- Must have reliable transportation to and from service base
- Experience: Serving in a team environment, Performing conservation-related service, or general labor tasks
- Comfortable with power tools and serving in a hazardous environment
Physical Requirements
- Able to lift 75+ lbs. alone and as a team
- Able to use/handle picks, sledgehammers, rakes, and shovels
- Able to transverse uneven terrain
- Able to bend, stoop, stretch, twist, or to squat to perform tasks
