About the role
The Welcome Desk Program Counselor (WDPC) plays a crucial role in the academic, residential, and social aspects of the pre-college program. They serve as the point person for all things student and parent related, providing support, direction, and a seamless line of communication regarding what’s happening in real time.
Responsibilities
- Greeting and welcoming students and providing accurate information regarding classes, locations, and events taking place on campus
- Answering phone and email inquiries with the highest professional standards
- Performing daily attendance checks
- Emailing parent & guardians regarding unaccounted day students who are missing from class
- Checking dorm rooms, classrooms, contacting roommates, and calling mobile phones if a student is missing
- Informing parents/guardians after 30-45 minutes if a student is missing from residential status
- Looping in appropriate staff members when necessary
- Creating pastoral notes in Orah on student profiles
- Approving/denying/monitoring student check-ins/check-outs daily
- Attending weekly WD staff meetings
- Other duties may be assigned
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree required
- 1+ year work experience (summer camp, boarding school, college campus, etc.)
- Previous customer service-related experience preferred
- Previous experience with youth, whether at summer camps or other residential programs on the administrative supportive level
- Previous experience with Microsoft Office Suite, communication platforms with or similar to Orah, Pronto
- Must complete a series of online trainings and in-person trainings prior to start of program
- Must pass a criminal background check and successfully complete all training
- Flexible schedule, including some weekends
- Non-residential position; housing will not be provided

$18 per hour
Schedule
Multiple shifts between the hours of 7am-11pm. Flexible schedule, including some weekends.
