About the role

Weis Markets is looking for associates who value respect, understanding, appreciation, teamwork, and community growth.

Responsibilities

• Smile and greet customers, answer questions, and help resolve concerns promptly and politely
• Follow company policies relating to customer checkout to increase satisfaction
• Identify and shop customer orders in a timely fashion to ensure accuracy and freshness
• Operate Front End scanning equipment and register, including bagging merchandise efficiently and placing it in customers' carts
• Contact customers by phone to address questions or concerns
• Operate console and picker devices to ensure accuracy
• Maintain knowledge of weekly ads, marketing promotions, and store layout to answer customer questions
• Maintain accuracy during transactions, ensuring proper charges and collection of funds (cash, checks, electronic payments, coupons)
• Maintain proper security measures and cash drawer accounting procedures, avoiding overages and shortages
• Follow all store and legal guidelines regarding sale of tobacco and alcohol
• Responsible for general sanitation in the department, following cleaning schedules and guidelines to keep work areas, equipment, counters, and display cases well maintained and meeting health and OSHA requirements
• Dispose of trash properly
• Cooperate with co-workers and superiors to ensure smooth function of the department and store
• Continuously improve job performance
• Utilize all company-provided Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), including cut resistant gloves, safety cutters, and company-sponsored footwear
• May be called upon to assist in other departments

Requirements

• Completed or working towards a High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED)
• No prior experience required
• Ability to perform each essential duty satisfactorily with or without accommodation
