About the role
New York Road Runners (NYRR) is a 501(c)(3) organization founded in 1958 that aims to build healthier lives and stronger communities through running. NYRR organizes over 56 races annually, including the TCS New York City Marathon, which raises millions for charity and boosts the local economy.
About the department
The Event Development and Production (ED&P) department at NYRR is responsible for planning and executing all NYRR events, from concept to execution. They manage physical site management, volunteer coordination, hospitality, safety, and security, as well as the warehouse and all race collateral.
Position overview
This role supports warehouse operations at NYRR events and may occasionally assist with other warehouse tasks. Key responsibilities include meticulous attention to detail, operating heavy machinery safely, assisting with equipment packing and loading/unloading, and maintaining a professional demeanor.
Job requirements
- 1 year of relevant experience in a comparable position or role
- Familiarity with outdoor event equipment
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Professional communication skills, bilingual Spanish fluency a plus
- Flexible schedule, capable of working nights and weekends
- Attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to work independently and maintain integrity
- Valid, clean driver's license; commercial driver's license preferred
- Forklift experience and ability to obtain certification within 30 days
- Physical stamina to stand and walk for long periods, lift up to 40 pounds
