Weekend Transportation Driver

Responsibilities

  • Safely transport residents to medical appointments, therapy sessions, social activities, and other destinations as scheduled.
  • Perform routine checks and maintenance on transportation vehicles to ensure they are in good working condition.
  • Report any issues to the maintenance department.
  • Adhere to all traffic laws and facility policies regarding vehicle safety and resident transportation.
  • Provide assistance to residents entering and exiting the vehicle, ensuring their safety and comfort throughout the journey.
  • Maintain accurate records of transportation schedules, mileage, and any incidents or observations during trips.
  • Cook up communication with facility staff, family members, and external providers to ensure effective and timely transportation arrangements.
  • Be prepared to handle emergency situations calmly and efficiently, including coordinating with emergency services if needed.
  • Exhibit professionalism and empathy while interacting with residents, family members, and facility staff.
  • Address any concerns or special requests with a positive attitude.

Qualifications

  • Valid Driver’s License: Must possess a valid Nebraska driver’s license with a clean driving record.
  • Experience: Previous experience in a driving or transportation role preferred, particularly within a healthcare or senior care environment.
  • Physical Requirements: Ability to lift and assist residents as needed and to handle physical tasks related to vehicle operation and maintenance.
