Weekend Sign Installer - Thomasville, NC

About the role

Directed is seeking an independent contractor to place and pick up temporary weekend signs in the Thomasville, NC area, specifically in the community of Woodford. The contractor will install signs between Friday at 5:00 PM and Saturday at 10:00 AM and pick them up between Sunday at 6:00 PM and Monday at 8:00 AM. Work can be performed anytime within those windows as long as all signs are placed by Saturday 10:00 AM and removed by Monday 8:00 AM. Signs are lightweight corrugated plastic on wooden stakes; Directed provides the signs, stakes, and replacement inventory as needed. This is a 1099 independent contractor position; contractors are responsible for their own fuel, expenses, taxes, and insurance, and determine their own driving order, vehicle, and mobile device. No benefits, minimum hours, or employment guarantees are offered. Contractors may accept or decline routes but must complete any route they commit to. Additional work may become available, offering increased earnings. The role suits delivery/rideshare drivers, couriers, retirees, veterans, or anyone seeking flexible supplemental income.

Responsibilities

• Use Directed's mobile application to report installation and pickup of signs at specific locations
• Install signs every weekend between Friday 5 PM and Saturday 10 AM
• Pick up the same signs between Sunday 6 PM and Monday 8 AM
• Store signs and extra stakes safely during the week
• Submit a weekly invoice and order replacement inventory after completing pickup via the website

Requirements

• Valid driver’s license and current auto insurance
• 18+ years old
• Reliable vehicle with enough space to transport 30+ signs
• Smartphone (Android or iPhone), roughly four years old or newer, capable of running the mobile app
• Ability to lift and place signs and work outdoors
• Ability to hammer stakes 6–8 inches into the ground during the first weekend only
• Dependable and able to complete routes within the required time windows each weekend

Pay

• Starting compensation: $94.75 per weekend
• Pay issued via direct deposit every two weeks
• $20.00 signing bonus
• $100.00 bonus after 4 weeks of completed work

Schedule

Installation window: Friday 5:00 PM – Saturday 10:00 AM (all signs must be placed by Saturday 10:00 AM).
Pickup window: Sunday 6:00 PM – Monday 8:00 AM (all signs must be removed by Monday 8:00 AM). Work can be performed at any time within these windows.
