Weekend Shift A-Packer (Line Leader)

About the Role

The A-Packer is a working leader responsible for setting up production lines, completing required paperwork and inspections, and ensuring finished goods are packed according to customer expectations.

Responsibilities

• Accountable for safe work practices and productivity of the packaging area
• Champion Targeted Pet Treats goals, policies, visions, and values
• Show up 30 minutes before shift start to set up production line(s)
• Complete all required paperwork and inspections in a timely manner
• Understand story boards and pack finished goods per customer requirements
• Fill, seal, date, case, and palletize product according to specifications
• Perform proper SKU change and end-of-shift cleaning
• Champion Food Safety, HACCP, and SQF standards
• Follow Good Manufacturing Practices at all times
• Lead by example and work professionally with coworkers
• Adhere to all policies and procedures
• Take breaks of appropriate length and frequency
• Maintain clean and neat work areas

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED preferred
• Mechanically inclined (preferred)
• Verbal and math skills at a 10th-grade level
• Ability to work with little or no supervision
• Strong time management and decision-making skills
• Willingness to work weekends
• Ability to learn in a fast-paced environment
• Adaptability to stressful situations and industry fluctuations
• Must be able to work with soy and distinguish colors

Physical Requirements

• Maneuver through tight spaces
• Lift 25 lbs. overhead
• Pull/maneuver pallet jack with up to 2,000-pound loads
• Carry items of 50 pounds from one place to another
• Stack 50 pounds repetitiously
