Weekend Residential Counselor, Part-Time

Responsibilities

• Participate in the development of individual service plans and monitor plan objectives.
• Aid residents in engaging in the community, including arranging and preparing for transportation, grooming and hygiene, and providing one-on-one direction with laundry when needed.
• Document services provided with appropriate notes.
• Maintain a neat, clean, and organized household.
• Provide information about community resources and orient residents to the local area.
• Intervene in situations requiring immediate attention to ensure the safety of the residents.
• Conduct regular group meetings covering life skills.
• Train and assist residents in developing laundry and household cleaning skills.
• Train and assist residents in personal hygiene and site maintenance objectives.
• Identify and address health and safety issues at residential sites.
• Aid residents in budgetary and money management skills.
• Provide counseling, behavioral intervention, and crisis management services while following emergency procedures.
• Notify the Program Supervisor/Program Manager of any medical or psychiatric emergencies.
• Complete and maintain all training requirements in a timely manner.

Qualifications

• Passion for assisting those diagnosed with mental illness.
• Self-starter and well-organized.
• High school graduate or equivalent.
• Valid driver's license, safe driving record, valid auto insurance, and access to a vehicle.
