Weekend Resident Counselor

About the role

The Center for Disability Services is seeking Weekend Resident Counselors to support our Residential Programs. These positions assist, provide, and promote independence with the daily treatment, care, and services of individuals receiving support.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the implementation of individualized residential habilitation services as outlined in the Individualized Plan of Services (ISP and supporting plans).
• Promote independence, community inclusion, individualization, and productivity among individuals receiving support.
• Respect individual choices, lifestyles, and dignity, encouraging informed risk-taking.
• Work flexibly across multiple residential locations as needed, covering shifts from 9pm Friday through 9am Monday.
• Work a minimum of 12 hours and a maximum of 25 hours per week.

Requirements

• Specialized training: First Aid, CPR, SCIP-R, OPWDD Medication Administration Certification, and CFDS Authorized Driver within the first six months of employment.
• Additional program-specific training completed within the first six months of employment.
• Maintain certifications continuously to remain in this position.
• NYS Driver's License required.

Qualifications

• A high school diploma or equivalent education.
• A minimum of two (2) years of relevant experience, preferably in working with individuals with developmental disabilities or in nursing home/home care settings.

Skills

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Knowledge of disability-related services and supports.

Pay

$25.00 per hour

Schedule

Weekend shifts from 9pm Friday through 9am Monday, with a minimum of 12 hours and a maximum of 25 hours per week.

Note: Compensation range is $25.00 - $25.00 per hour.
