Weekend Registered Nurse Inpatient-Delnor Medical Surgical Unit Full Time Days

Schedule

• Three 12-hour shifts per week, 7:00 a.m. to 7:30 p.m., Friday through Sunday
• Includes an $8/hr weekend program differential

Responsibilities

• Prescribe, delegate, and coordinate nursing care to acutely ill patients through the nursing process of assessment, planning, intervention, implementation, and evaluation
• Effectively interact with patient, significant others, and other health team members while maintaining ANA standards of professional nursing practice
• Collect and analyze data, identify expected outcomes, develop and implement an individualized plan, coordinate care delivery, and evaluate progress toward attainment of outcomes
• Direct care and determine the appropriate utilization of any assistant involved in providing direct patient care
• Collaborate with patient, family, physicians, and ancillary staff
• Create a documented plan focused on outcomes and decisions related to the care and delivery of services that indicates communications with patients, families, and others
• Participate in shared governance, committee work, and unit projects
• Evaluate and document the patient's responses to nursing interventions in the health record and properly individualize the plan of care based on the evaluation of findings
• Utilize the best available evidence, including research findings, to guide practice decisions

Qualifications

Required

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing
• Current State of Illinois Registered Professional Nurse license
• Basic Life Support certification via American Heart Association
• Strong interpersonal skills
• Ability to collaborate with others
• Strong analytic abilities

Preferred

• Experience in acute care inpatient nursing

Note: New graduate BSNs will not be considered for this position.
