About the role
Jill’s House is a Christian non-profit organization and auxiliary ministry of McLean Bible Church that provides short-term overnight respite care and holistic family support services for families raising children, adolescents, and young adults with intellectual disabilities.
Responsibilities
- Leading the day-to-day execution of the Tysons Weekend Program
- Supervising, coaching, and developing Direct Support Professionals
- Supporting staff during client care routines, behavior support, documentation, and urgent program needs
- Helping ensure excellent, person-centered care for the individuals we serve
- Communicating with parents/guardians, external partners, and internal teams
- Partnering with the AVP of Programs, Respite Care Team, Nursing Team, Human Resources, and other colleagues to ensure consistency and excellence
- Serving as a culture leader for the direct care team by modeling Jill’s House’s mission, values, and guiding principles
Requirements
- Experience working with children or adults with intellectual disabilities
- Strong knowledge of behavior support strategies and person-centered care
- Demonstrated experience managing multiple direct reports
- Strong coaching, communication, and staff development skills
- The ability to encourage and model Christ-centered engagement
- The ability to remain calm, focused, and directive in emergency or escalated situations
- Strong organizational, problem-solving, leadership, and time management skills
- The ability to adjust work availability as program needs shift, including some evenings and weekends
- A willingness to partner across teams and support the needs of the ministry
- A commitment to affirming the McLean Bible Church Vision/Values and Standards of Christian Conduct
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree and two years of demonstrated professional excellence, with at least one year working with children or adults with disabilities
- High school diploma with two years of demonstrated professional excellence and at least three years working with children or adults with disabilities in a residential setting
- At least 1 year of experience in a supervisory, leadership, or management role
- At least one year of experience working with children or adults with varying disabilities is required
