About the role
The Stem Cell Transplant and Cellular Therapies Unit (3JCP) at the University of Iowa Health Care's Department of Nursing is seeking a Weekend Option Nights Staff Nurse (RN). This unit is part of the Holden Comprehensive Cancer Center and provides specialized, comprehensive care to adult patients with leukemia and those undergoing transplant for multiple myeloma, leukemia, lymphoma, and other types of hematologic disorders.
Responsibilities
- Assess patients' nursing care needs
- Evaluate effectiveness of care provided
- Integrate nursing theory and research into clinical practice
- Provide exceptional care to inspiring patients
- Work in a dynamic and fast-paced environment
- Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team
Requirements
- 60% of time spent working 24 hours per week
- Weekend Option, Day Shifts schedule
- Location: UI Health Care Main Campus, John Colloton Pavilion (3JCP)
Qualifications
- An Associate’s Degree in Nursing, a Diploma in Nursing, a Baccalaureate Degree in Nursing, Professional Masters of Nursing and Healthcare Practice (MNHP), MSN/Clinical Nurse Leader, or a Master’s Degree in Nursing (MSN, MA) is required
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Demonstrated excellent interpersonal skills with patients/families, nursing staff, and interdisciplinary team members
- General computer skills, including proficiency in managing multiple databases including Microsoft Excel
- Current license to practice nursing in Iowa by date of hire
