Weekend Meteorologist/Multi Media Reporter

The Weekend Meteorologist / MMJ Reporter position at KXRM FOX21 is ideal for someone who enjoys a dynamic and challenging environment. Reporting, shooting, writing, and editing weather and news reports across various platforms is a key part of the job. This role requires a strong background in meteorology, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work under tight deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Report, shoot, write, and edit weather and news reports for all platforms.
• Achieve and maintain high standards of journalistic integrity and production quality.
• Write and deliver weather and news stories in a clear and concise manner.
• Assist in writing, copy editing, researching, and coordinating weather programming and other content.
• Respond to breaking and/or severe weather events and other urgent newsroom situations as required.
• Collaborate with the weather team to develop comprehensive weather coverage.
• Participate in promotional activities including public appearances.
• Write web stories detailing the local forecast on a daily basis.
• Interact with viewers and users on station social media sites.
• Work three days a week as a MMJ reporter, including shooting and editing stories from beginning to end.

Requirements & Skills

• Bachelor's degree in Meteorology, or related field, or equivalent combination of education and work experience.
• Entry-level to 2 years of experience in weather presentation and reporting preferred.
• Ability to shoot video and perform non-linear editing, and write stories from beginning to end.
• Knowledge of ENPS helpful.
• Ability to meet deadlines, prioritize assignments, and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Strong understanding of the field of Meteorology and a proven track record of forecasting.
• Valid driver's license with a good driving record.
• Flexibility to work any shift.

Compensation

Annual Salary: $45,000 + commensurate on experience
