Weekend Manufacturing Engineer (12 Hour Shifts)

Join our team at Carlex where we prioritize safety, innovation, and excellence in every aspect of our work. We are seeking an experienced Engineer to join our dynamic team in the glass fabrication department.

Responsibilities

  • Manage process related tooling in preparation for each production run
  • Troubleshoot line operations
  • Issue and revise drawing and process sheets based on continuous improvement
  • Verify conformance of components to customer specifications
  • Analyse weekly production results, identify deficiencies, and implement improvements
  • Train operators on safe and effective operation of plant equipment and machinery
  • Lead root cause analysis of failures and drive implementation of corrective actions
  • Originate, develop, and facilitate analysis methods for determining the reliability of components and equipment
  • Maintain and enhance PM programs, identify deficiencies, and implement corrective actions
  • Utilize equipment downtime database to identify trends and premature failure issues, and implement corrective actions
  • Design, develop, and implement equipment changes to improve reliability, productivity, efficiency, and product quality
  • Attend daily meetings to drive continuous improvement and ensure compliance with productivity goals

Requirements

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Manufacturing or Electrical) or any equivalent technical degree
  • Six Sigma certification preferred
  • Experience: 3+ years in a Manufacturing Environment preferred
  • PLC experience preferred
  • Familiarity with CAD software (SolidWorks preferred)
  • Experience with manufacturing equipment or assembly lines
  • Proven understanding of Six Sigma, SPC, 5 Whys, Pareto, and other tools to improve and sustain production levels
  • Strong understanding of quality of product and ability to implement improvements to operations
  • Ability to work beyond traditional 40-hour workweeks as needed, including weekends and holidays
