Weekend Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)

About the role

The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) at Huntingdon Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center coordinates and provides nursing care for residents and supervises and guides clinical staff members.

Responsibilities

• Documents the resident’s condition and nursing needs.
• Accurately and promptly implements physicians’ orders.
• Sets up nursing care for team members according to the resident's needs and their capabilities and qualifications.
• Supervises, directs, and evaluates junior staff members and Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs).
• Administers medications and performs treatments for assigned residents, and documents these treatments as required by the company, local, state, and federal rules and regulations.
• Participates in orientation and in-service training for personnel.
• Ensures that supplies are used efficiently and equipment is clean and maintained in a safe manner.
• Reports and records pertinent observations and reactions regarding residents.
• Collaborates with other departments to coordinate nursing care for residents during therapy or procedures.
• Interviews applicants and recommends hiring decisions.
• Participates in counseling, disciplinary actions, and terminations of staff, within the limits of the state practice act.
• Schedules and directs the nursing staff as permitted by the state practice act.
• Maintains inventory and supplies on the unit and communicates the need for housekeeping, maintenance, or dietary assistance.
• Performs other tasks as assigned.

Requirements

• Graduate of an accredited LPN/LVN school of nursing.
• Valid LPN/LVN license in the state employed.
• Valid CPR certification.
• One year experience in nursing preferred.

Pay

Starting wages range from $23-$31 per hour, based on experience, shift, and a $5/hr weekend warrior program.

Schedule
