Weekend lead, Material Handler 2
About the role
Provide direction to Forklift Operators, including training, work assignment, and problem resolution within your area. Operate gasoline-, liquefied gas-, or electric-powered industrial lift equipment (sit-down, stand-up, clamp, or other elevating devices) to push, pull, lift, stack, tier, or move products, equipment, or materials from rail cars in the distribution center or storage yard. Act as Supervisor in the absence of the Shift Supervisor. Inventory materials on the work floor and supply workers as needed. Assist Supervisors and management in planning, assigning, and directing work. Support Lead Train Operators (LTOs) with daily issues and ensure adherence to policies, procedures, and best practices. Perform daily case picking based on business needs. Follow corporate and site-specific Good Manufacturing Practices and report noncompliance. Enforce company safety rules and assist with onboarding, safety training, and special projects.
Responsibilities
- Operate industrial powered lift trucks safely and efficiently
- Train and certify newly hired LTOs
- Inventory materials and supply workers as needed
- Assist Supervisors and management in planning and directing work
- Support LTOs with daily issues and ensure policy compliance
- Perform case picking as required by business needs
- Follow and enforce Good Manufacturing Practices and safety rules
- Assist with onboarding, safety training, and special projects
- Act as Supervisor in the absence of the Shift Supervisor
- Other duties as assigned
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED
- One or more years of related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Must successfully complete post-hire assessments
- Must obtain and maintain equipment certifications (e.g., OSHA, company-specific)
- Must wear required personal protective equipment (e.g., protective footwear, eyewear, gloves)
- Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel
- Strong professional communication skills
- Ability to work as a team player and embrace changes

Schedule
Saturday–Monday, 6:00 AM–6:30 PM
Pay
$22.50 per hour + $1.50 weekend shift differential
