Weekend Laundry Aide (24317)

Friday–Sunday, 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM

About the role

The Laundry Aide supports the delivery of laundry services. Duties may include washing, drying, folding, ironing, mending, and distributing or delivering linen and patients’ clothing.

Responsibilities

• Load washing machines to proper weight/level, set correct cycles, and dispense appropriate detergents and chemicals.
• Sort laundry by color, fabric, and type; pre-soak items as needed.
• Transfer sanitized laundry to dryers and fold/stack dried items in proper order.
• Iron and mend items that require it.
• Distribute personal laundry to patients’ closets using proper equipment.
• Clean and disinfect floors, appliances, folding tables, delivery carts, and other laundry areas.
• Maintain sanitation and quality standards; ensure proper storage of supplies.
• Identify and correct safety hazards; clean dryer vents after each load and building exterior daily or as needed.
• Ensure laundry equipment is available and in good repair.
• Act as a Team Leader/Role Model when required.
• Review and comply with Cantex Continuing Care Networks Clinical Policies and Procedures for Abuse Prevention.
• Attend weekly in-services and comply with Patient Care Management Systems.
• Assure patient/resident safety.
• Perform other essential functions as assigned.

Requirements

• Experience in a long-term care or healthcare laundry department preferred.
• Ability to read, write, and speak English.
