Weekend Charge Registered Nurse

About the role

As a Weekend Charge Nurse, you will oversee nursing care and unit operations during weekend shifts. You will lead direct care staff, manage resident admissions/discharges, administer medications and treatments, and respond to clinical needs to maintain high standards of care.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and guide CNAs and nursing staff on duty to ensure compassionate, regulatory-compliant resident care.
• Administer prescribed medications, treatments, and physician orders accurately and timely.
• Assess resident conditions, record vitals, document progress notes, and update care plans as needed.
• Serve as the primary contact for attending physicians, families, and emergency services during weekend shifts.
• Address change-of-condition events promptly and ensure proper documentation and protocols are followed.

Qualifications

• Active, unencumbered RN license in the state of Wisconsin.
• Charge nurse experience required.
• Prior nursing experience in a Skilled Nursing Facility (SNF) or Long-Term Care (LTC) setting preferred; leadership experience is a plus.
• Current CPR/BLS Certification required.
