Job Summary
Aria Healthcare seeks an enthusiastic and compassionate Activity Assistant to join our interdisciplinary team. This position is ideal for someone who wants to empower patients to be active partners in their care and provide a safe haven for healing.
Responsibilities
- Organize, direct, and execute a diverse activity program tailored to the varying needs of residents.
- Select appropriate programs for residents on the One to One program, including crafts, table games, service projects, intellectual activities, etc.
- Balance small, medium, and large group activities, as well as programs across different floors and the central activity room.
- Lead evening and weekend programs as directed by the Activity Director.
- Record daily resident participation in activities and chart progress quarterly or more often as needed.
- Participate in the development of individual goals for each resident in collaboration with all departments.
- Attend in-service classes and workshops, both within and outside the facility, and participate in departmental meetings as directed by the Activity Director.
- Contact new residents to introduce them to the activity opportunities available to them.
- Coordinate the monthly activity schedule and evaluate all programs.
- Prepare daily materials and supplies for programs and inform the Activity Director of necessary acquisitions for upcoming events.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in a related field preferred.
- Experience working with older adults or in healthcare settings is beneficial.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Ability to lead and facilitate various types of activities.
- Passion for promoting resident engagement and independence.
