Weekday Evening Counselor

Concern Housing is a non-profit agency committed to helping individuals and families live in the community with dignity and enhanced opportunities through the provision of housing and support services. We serve approximately 1,300 individuals and families in over 240 locations across New York State, offering a variety of housing options with individualized support services designed to support personal growth and independence.

About the role

The Weekday Evening Counselor assists the Supervisor and Case Managers in delivering direct services to clients and supports the overall operation of the site. The role involves teaching skills, providing concrete services, counseling, and contributing to daily site activities.

Schedule

Monday - Friday; 6pm - 11pm

Responsibilities

• Provides direct care services to a caseload of clients.
• Documents client progress and maintains records for assigned clients.
• Monitors the site and coordinates/participates in house activities such as meal preparation, chore activities, recreational activities, and safety checks.
• Facilitates the food-planning committee and trains clients in weekly food planning.
• Provides rehabilitative support services in daily living skills, health services, and other assigned areas.
• Assists with housing services, including maintenance issues.
• Monitors medication administration.
• Assists with transportation of clients.
• Attends scheduled staff meetings.
• Performs monthly fire inspections.
• Remains current with all agency-required compliance documents and trainings.

Requirements

• Minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent.
• At least two years of experience in a similar role.
