About the role

We are seeking multiple CNC Machinists for our Week Night shift to operate computer numerical control and conventional machines, fabricate parts, and ensure production quality. This role involves loading parts, cycling machines, detecting malfunctions, running production lots, and maintaining a safe, organized, and clean work environment. You will support Sonaca North America’s commitment to total customer satisfaction, quality, lean processes, continuous improvement, on-time delivery, safety, teamwork, and individual accountability.

Responsibilities

  • Set up and operate CNC machining centers (3-axis / 5-axis depending on experience)
  • Check and monitor parts during production
  • Read and interpret blueprints and GD&T
  • Perform in-process inspections to ensure quality standards
  • Produce the proper amount of parts per machine cycle time
  • Deburr and blend all machined parts
  • Perform daily machine maintenance, including maintaining fluid levels, emptying chips, and wiping down machines to remove coolant, dust, and debris
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area
  • Complete and maintain necessary paperwork
  • Work in a team-focused, safety-driven aerospace environment
  • Ensure consistent attendance and punctuality

Requirements

  • 2+ years of CNC machining experience (mills preferred)
  • Previous experience with 4-Axis and/or 5-Axis Machining strongly preferred
  • Setup experience strongly preferred
  • High school diploma or equivalency preferred (candidates without this may be required to take a pre-employment assessment)
  • Trade school training in machining practices preferred
  • Math skills to perform basic calculations
  • Ability to read prints and use standard inspection tools
  • Strong attention to detail and quality mindset
  • Ability to read measuring equipment (Calipers/Micrometers)
  • Able to concentrate, focus, and pay strict attention to detail independently

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to sit or stand for extended periods
  • Exposure to noise levels ranging from quiet to extremely loud
  • Required to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) on the manufacturing floor, including eye, ear, and foot protection
  • May occasionally lift and/or move up to 10-50 pounds
