Weed & Pest Control Technician - Seasonal

Typical Duties & Responsibilities

• Drive county roads and identify noxious weeds and invasive plants.
• Safely mix chemicals in correct proportions and prepare spray equipment for use.
• Apply environmentally safe herbicides and pesticides according to established procedures.
• Set mosquito traps and conduct inspections on captured specimens for various diseases.
• Complete written documents, safety sheets, and work logs.

Minimum Qualifications

• A valid driver's license.
• The ability to operate motor vehicles including All Terrain Vehicles and Utility Terrain Vehicles.
• The ability to successfully study and pass for a Professional Applicator’s License within the first 2 months on the job.
• Basic math skills.
• Sufficient written and verbal communication skills.
• A willingness to work with hazardous chemicals.
• A willingness to work outside and in all weather conditions.

Pay

This is a seasonal position lasting no more than 8 months and does not qualify for employee benefits.

Schedule

The position is seasonal, typically occurring during the spring, summer, and fall months.
