About the role

The Web Developer Technical Student Intern will provide critical support for the laboratory's main website, jlab.org, including working with departments to update, consolidate, and move webpages to the supported Drupal content management system to further improve functionality, services, and analytic analysis.

Responsibilities

• Update, consolidate, and move webpages for lab divisions to the supported Drupal content management system.
• Meet with different divisions and departments to assess their webpage development needs and provide assistance with accomplishing those needs across the laboratory.
• Complete and document resolution of problem reports and maintain online documentation.

Requirements

• Full-time college student majoring in Computer Science, Web Development/Design, Information Technology, or a related major with a GPA of 2.5 or higher.
• High School Diploma or GED.

Skills

• Ability to navigate servers and large folder structures.
• Working knowledge of 508 compliance relating to web accessibility.
• Working knowledge of Content Management Systems—Drupal (version 8/9 preferred), Drupal Themes, PHP, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
• Knowledge of image manipulation (resize, crop, minor photo editing) in Adobe Photoshop.
• Understand and follow established computing policies.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.

Preferred Qualifications

• Demonstrated experience in computer support.

Pay

The good-faith pay range for this role is $37,700 - $44,500 per year. Actual compensation may vary and may be above the posted range based on factors such as a candidate's skills, experience, education, certifications, and work location.
