About the Role

We're looking for a Remote, US-Based Web Developer with strong BigCommerce experience to join a growing digital agency and help build and maintain high-quality e-commerce websites and technical solutions for its clients. This will be an hourly, contractor position. This is a hands-on development role for someone who can do more than execute a ticket. You'll build custom functionality, support technical SEO and integrations, troubleshoot complex issues, and translate technical requirements into clear, actionable solutions. You'll also collaborate directly with internal teams and clients, so we're looking for someone who communicates well, takes ownership of their work, and understands how to deliver in a fast-moving agency environment.

Responsibilities

• Web Development & Technical Execution
  • Build and implement high-quality websites and custom functionality, with a primary focus on BigCommerce (Shopify experience a plus).
  • Support technical SEO implementations including performance optimization, schema, redirects, and site health improvements.
  • Support technical requirements related to email marketing, integrations, and platform configurations.
  • Ensure technical work aligns with project scope, timelines, and client objectives.
• Project Delivery Support
  • Translate technical requirements into clear tasks, timelines, and delivery plans.
  • Support delivery execution by identifying risks, dependencies, and feasibility early.
  • Assist with troubleshooting, blockers, and escalations during active projects.
• Technical Support & Standards
  • Support consistent, scalable, and maintainable code across projects.
  • Assist with code review and implementation feedback as needed.
  • Participate in client calls to support technical decision-making and communicate technical concepts in clear, client-friendly language, particularly when running point on a technical initiative.
  • Partner closely with internal and external teams to ensure integrated delivery.
• Internal Growth & Agency Support
  • Support the agency's internal website, tools, and technical infrastructure.
  • Contribute to internal initiatives that improve efficiency, quality, or scalability.
  • Help evaluate new technologies, platforms, and development approaches that support agency growth.

Qualifications

• 2-4 years of experience as a Developer within a digital or e-commerce agency.
• Strong experience in front-end and web development, with the ability to support and collaborate on development work across internal and external teams.
• Solid understanding of web performance, technical SEO, and modern development best practices.
• Ability to clearly communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders and clients.
• Experience with BigCommerce required; Shopify experience is a strong plus.
• Strong ownership mindset with a focus on quality, accountability, and continuous improvement.
• Passion for the shooting sports / outdoor industry, with familiarity and respect for the audience and regulatory landscape.
