Web Designer II
Serco supports the US Army as the prime for PPB BBOS, consisting of multiple managed cloud environments and numerous hosted data, applications, and processes that enable Army Planning, Programming and Budgeting (PPB) processes to develop the Army Future Years Defense Program (FYDP). Our team performs administration, maintenance, and improvement of IT systems that collect POM, Budget Estimate Submission (BES) and President’s Budget resources data deemed necessary to accomplish the Department’s mission. This is a fully remote position and applicants must currently reside in Virginia to be considered.
About the role
In this role, you will be responsible for analysis, requirements gathering, design, development, test, and documentation on application web design. You will work in close collaboration with the external customer and internal development team to ensure accurate implementation of customer requirements, user interviews, and user story discussion meetings. As a self-starter and team-player, you will manage and complete tasks in a fast-paced, results-driven environment.
- Be creative and keep up with the latest trends while remaining rooted in UX design principles
- Provide UX technical guidance and insight into all development phases to optimize interactive user experience
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field
- 2 years of relevant IT experience
- An active Secret Clearance
- Experience with User Experience research, design, and development
- Experience with various Content Management Systems, Java, APEX, CSS, JavaScript, etc.
- Working knowledge of Army PPB BOS financial processes
- Ability to travel 10%
Desired Qualifications
- Experience with software development life cycle
- Experience with wireframes, interaction patterns, and detailed workflows
- Knowledge of translating design into web prototypes or functional front-end UIs
- Knowledge of version control software (Git, etc.), ticket tracking systems (JIRA, etc.)
- Knowledge of database platforms to include Oracle and SQL Server

Pay
Salary range for this position is provided as a general guideline and represents a good faith estimate across all experience levels. Actual base salary will be determined by factors including scope of the role, relevant experience, job-related knowledge, education and training, key skills, and geographic market considerations. For roles available in multiple states, the range may vary to reflect differences in local labor markets. In addition to base salary, eligible positions may include other forms of compensation such as annual bonuses or long-term incentive opportunities.
