About the role

The Web Content Manager is responsible for managing and enhancing KCU’s website content to deliver an optimal user experience, align content with institutional goals, and uphold branding guidelines. This position offers a dynamic opportunity to shape the digital presence of KCU by leveraging creativity, technical expertise, and strategic thinking.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor and manage daily content operations of KCU’s websites, ensuring pages are visually appealing, user-friendly, and aligned with institutional goals.
  • Collaborate with IT regarding technical functionality, hosting, and security, providing input and support as needed.
  • Maintain the integrity of website structure and navigation, ensuring ease of access for all users.
  • Work with content creators to upload and organize new content, including text, images, videos, and interactive features.
  • Ensure all web content is optimized for SEO to improve search engine visibility and rankings.
  • Conduct regular audits to identify outdated or underperforming content and recommend updates.
  • Create engaging and on-brand written materials for the website, blogs, and other publications as assigned.
  • Support institutional goals by crafting content that highlights key initiatives, recruitment efforts, and community impact.
  • Collaborate with IT to ensure compliance with ADA accessibility standards and other regulatory requirements.
  • Use tools like heatmaps and user analytics to inform improvements to website functionality and design.
  • Monitor website performance using tools such as Google Analytics, including traffic, engagement, and conversion rates.
  • Generate regular reports with actionable insights to guide content and design strategies.
  • Track key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the success of website updates and campaigns.
  • Act as a liaison between departments to ensure the website meets the needs of diverse stakeholders.
  • Evaluate and integrate new tools, plugins, and features to enhance website performance and user engagement.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Web Development, Digital Marketing, Communications, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in website management, preferably in a higher education or non-profit setting.
  • Proficiency in web platforms (e.g., WordPress, Drupal) and front-end technologies (HTML, CSS).
  • Strong understanding of SEO best practices, Google Analytics, and UX/UI principles.
  • Familiarity with accessibility standards such as ADA compliance.
  • Excellent organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with technical and non-technical teams.
