Web Application Security Engineer

Position type: Contract (12 months with extension)

Location: Charlotte, NC / Chandler, AZ / Las Colinas, TX
Hybrid (3 days onsite / 2 days remote)

Responsibilities

• Configure and support layer 7 web security controls including rate limiting, WAF, bot mitigation, client lists, geolocation, mTLS, and certificates.
• Ensure secure operation of internet-facing web applications through advanced HTTP/S security practices.
• Manage DNS, geographic, and local load balancing configurations supporting HTTP/S traffic.
• Implement and maintain firewall policies for web application security.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex issues across multi-layer enterprise systems.
• Collaborate with application and infrastructure teams to align security controls with business needs.
• Work within a product model using Jira/Kanban to manage tasks and workflows.
• Support enterprise change management processes for secure deployment of web security configurations.

Requirements

• Experience in web application security engineering.
• In-depth knowledge of HTTP/S, web applications, and web application security controls.
• Understanding of DNS, load balancing (geographic and local), and firewall policies.
• Proven analytical and troubleshooting skills for complex enterprise systems.
• Experience working in Agile product models using Jira/Kanban.
• Familiarity with enterprise change management practices.

Pay

Between $50 - $56 per hour. Pay range offered to a successful candidate will be based on several factors, including the candidate's education, work experience, work location, specific job duties, certifications, etc.
