Web Application Development Intern

About the role

The Web Application Developer Intern will design, develop, and maintain SVS’ client-facing applications to support business requirements. This role involves following approved life cycle methodologies, creating design documents, writing code, testing, and configuring DevOps utilities. The intern will also resolve technical issues through debugging, research, and investigation.

Responsibilities

• Designing, developing, and maintaining custom applications or configuration of corporate application systems and services for internal employees and external clients.
• Analyzing and designing application systems, including the development, modification, and translation of user requirements.
• Planning, investigating, and proposing systems and application solutions.
• Preparing workflows for writing, testing, and maintaining computer programs.
• Architecting program specifications and business logic.
• Creating and updating user manuals and other documentation.
• Correcting, testing, and documenting changes to existing programs.
• Conducting training and presentations.
• Supporting existing applications.
• Night and weekend rotation required.
• Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Majoring in Computer Science, Information Technology, Mathematics, or a related subject.
• Hands-on experience in object-oriented languages/frameworks, relational database management systems, web technologies, or other software application development platforms.
• Strong written, verbal, analytical, and interpersonal skills.
• Must display maturity and a high level of professionalism.
• Able to work in a team environment.
• Currently enrolled at an accredited college or university in a Bachelor or Graduate degree program through the duration of the internship.
• Must be committed to working a 40-hour work week for 10-12 weeks during the summer months.
• Stay up to date with recent technological developments and best practices in Application Development.
• Consult with users to identify current operating procedures and clarify program objectives.
• Excellent communication, design, and documentation skills.

Schedule

• Hybrid environment, reporting to the Louisville office location.
• 40-hour work week for 10-12 weeks during the summer months.
• Night and weekend rotation required.
