Job Summary
As a Wealth Strategist I, you will provide cutting edge planning support to the firm’s high net worth clients (“subject matter expertise”, or “SME”). Financial planning is the foundation of Mercer Advisors. You will support advisors with creating, maintaining, and implementing financial plans for advanced level clients. You will identify opportunities to provide value to our prospective clients, advisors, and existing clients. You will work as part of our Financial Planning Group, a centralized team providing advanced financial planning support.
Essential Job Functions
- Prepare and maintain financial plans for prospective, onboarding, and existing clients.
- Increase advisor and client satisfaction by co-presenting in meetings regarding financial planning items.
- Maintain and develop strategy sheets for existing high net worth clients.
- Ensure execution of different Wealth Solutions deliverables, keeping the team members organized and coordinating internal and external service providers.
- Prepare agendas and delegate post-meeting actions to required Wealth Solutions team members.
- Increase sales by actively participating in the sales process by participating in the data gathering, identification of opportunities, and modeling value of financial planning to prospective clients.
- Increase advisor proficiency in financial planning strategies.
- Provide thought leader content to the field in the way of articles and webinars.
- Research specific topics, legislation, or other planning matters unique to client situations and for purposes of internal projects, as well as internal and external materials.
Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities
- CFP, or advanced degree (ex: CPA, CFA, JD, MT, LLM, MBA) required.
- 5+ years direct financial planning experience focused on investments, cash flow, estate, tax planning, private trust services, and lending.
- Strong analytical and interpersonal skills, as well as written and verbal communication skills.
- Highly organized and able to excel in a fast-paced environment.
- Competency with eMoney, Holistiplan, and/or other planning, tax, or research software preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (PowerPoint, Word, Outlook, etc.) required.
Work Schedule
This professional role requires availability Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM, in office. Working Conditions Professional office environment, daytime hours, working inside, standing, and sitting, will be assigned to a workstation, no heavy lifting over 10 lbs.
