About the role

Serv, a global executive recruitment partner, is hiring on behalf of our client Waystone Advisors for a Wealth Design Advisor. Waystone Advisors, founded in 2011, is an independent, SEC‑registered firm that helps high earners—physicians, pilots, tech professionals, entrepreneurs, and real estate investors—build wealth and passive income with the goal of making work optional, not just retiring at 65. The firm combines traditional investments with alternative strategies such as real estate, giving clients access to opportunities usually reserved for the ultra‑wealthy. Their mission is to make your money work harder than you do, and every advisor plays a direct role in helping clients see what’s possible and build a strategy to get there.

Responsibilities

  • Build genuine relationships with prospective clients and develop personalized financial plans using Waystone’s traditional and alternative strategies.
  • Present financial plans with confidence, clearly communicating recommendations and converting prospective clients into new relationships.
  • Own the client onboarding experience from the initial meeting through full implementation.
  • Serve as a primary point of contact, providing timely, proactive communication throughout the client journey.
  • Assess each client’s income, expenses, insurance coverage, financial goals, tax considerations, and risk tolerance to help develop the right strategy.
  • Partner closely with Senior Advisors to prepare financial plans, portfolio recommendations, performance reports, and other client materials.
  • Manage client portfolios, meeting preparation, CRM records, and electronic client files with a high level of accuracy and organization.
  • Identify opportunities for growth by building strong relationships and generating referrals from existing clients.
  • Represent Waystone’s core values of Authenticity, Integrity, Innovation, Excellence, and Community in every client interaction.

Qualifications

  • Active Series 65 and Life & Health Insurance licenses required.
  • 2–5 years of experience in financial planning, wealth management, or a client‑facing advisory role.
  • Experience with lines of credit and alternative investment strategies; exposure to real estate investing is a strong asset.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Comfortable leading thoughtful, consultative client conversations without relying on a script.
  • Skilled at building trusted relationships and understanding each client’s goals, priorities, and financial picture.
  • Proactive and dependable, with a strong sense of ownership and follow‑through.
  • Comfortable working independently, managing priorities, and determining next steps.
  • Able to think beyond traditional financial planning approaches and develop strategies tailored to each client’s needs.

Skills

  • Confident without being arrogant.
  • Naturally curious and highly coachable.
  • Leaves ego outside the meeting.
  • Knows how to teach rather than simply tell.
  • Can make complicated financial ideas feel clear and actionable.
  • Comfortable respectfully challenging a client when their actions aren't aligned with their goals.
  • Communicates quickly and consistently.
  • Takes ownership of the client experience.
  • Energized by a high‑growth environment.
  • Believes financial planning can do more than prepare someone to retire.
  • Wants to
