About the role
We are looking for a Relationship Manager and trusted advisor who sells and services a book of business (primarily Investment Management and IRA Accounts). As the primary contact for a group of clients, you will develop new business by following up on referrals and sourcing new clients. You will maintain communications with clients, ensuring their financial planning and investment objectives are understood, implemented, and aligned with their goals. You will be accountable for the growth and retention of your portfolio of client relationships and the delivery of services to those clients.
Responsibilities
- Represent the organization and the department, providing guidance and expertise to clients in meeting their financial needs and assisting them with financial planning goals.
- Manage client portfolios to ensure conformity with client risk tolerance and goals.
- Develop new business and additions to existing accounts to meet annual financial goals.
- Collaborate with Wealth Advisors, Retail Market Managers, Commercial Lenders, and other organization contacts.
- Develop new business by contacting centers of influence (COIs), prospects, and clients.
- Cross-sell services including DDA and savings accounts, cash management/deposit services, commercial loan services, and home mortgage loans.
- Manage the client relationship for accounts developed or assigned.
- Coordinate client communications and work closely with department employees on administrative, operational, and investment issues to ensure quality client experience.
- Monitor client satisfaction to maximize retention and increase sales opportunities.
- Provide technical planning and investment expertise to department staff, organization employees, clients, and centers of influence.
- Assist other Department officers in resolving client issues and complaints.
- Foster client goodwill by providing guidance and resources on financial planning and investment issues.
- Administer investment management, IRA, endowment, and custody accounts in accordance with applicable rules and regulations, including Department and Board charter and directives, FDIC standards, the Prudent Investor Act, and the Uniform Principal and Income Act.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED.
- Trust and/or Investment business development capabilities/experience.
- Ability to understand investments and trust services.
- Experience in trust administration, trust investment, or financial advisory services.
Qualifications
- Associate or bachelor’s degree in finance, business, economics, or a related field (preferred).
- Professional designation, such as CFA, CFP, etc. (preferred).
- Knowledge of Trust regulations, compliance, and other legal matters (preferred).
- Strong communication skills with the ability to convey ideas and knowledge convincingly to achieve results.
- Ability to maximize unique talents and knowledge while demonstrating engaged performance.
- Knowledge of the banking industry, technology, banking products, the sales process, and the business environment.

Work Environment
This position operates in an office environment within a climate-controlled facility that can be high-traffic during peak service times. The role involves frequent use of the telephone, computer, and other office equipment. Individuals are typically seated at their personal desk for most of the day. The role requires:
