About Generational Wealth Advisors (GWA)

GWA is a rapidly growing Registered Investment Advisor located in the Dallas suburb of Richardson. As a part of the Generational Group, GWA focuses primarily on working with business owners and their families both in preparation for a liquidity event and life thereafter. Clients include High Net Worth and Ultra High Net Worth individuals, Family Offices, and charitable organizations. Responsibilities

  • Client Relationship Management
    • Manage all aspects of the client-advisor relationship on behalf of GWA, including ongoing portfolio reviews, coordinating new investment strategies, and ensuring client requests are fulfilled in a timely manner
    • Develop long-term client relationships to capture future assets under management
    • Lead and attend both in-person and web-based (Zoom/Teams) client meetings
    • Monitor client accounts and review client records to ensure accuracy
  • Financial Planning & Advisory
    • Lead the clients’ financial planning process, including preparing and delivering financial reports, implementing recommendations, and working with other members of the financial planning team
    • Develop spreadsheets or models to evaluate financial planning topics and trade scenarios as needed
  • Cross-Functional & Business Development Support
    • Coordinate with outside professionals related to client management, such as attorneys, tax professionals, and M&A advisors
    • Work directly with the operations team to execute operational tasks and support higher-level operations-related projects
    • Support business development efforts, which may include attending prospect meetings, preparing reports or information for prospects, and managing follow-up discussions with prospects
    • Manage and complete multiple tasks in a timely manner; tasks are both recurring and ad hoc based on client needs
  • Investment & Portfolio Duties
    • Participate in investment and/or portfolio committee activities as needed, including reviewing macroeconomic themes, contributing to asset allocation policy, and performing due diligence on model portfolios and investment strategies
    • Place trades in alignment with firm investment and asset location philosophies

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university with study in business, finance, accounting, or a related field
  • Current CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER (CFP®) designation
  • Series 65 license required (or ability to obtain within an agreed-upon timeframe)
  • 5+ years’ experience working in a wealth management-related position, including client-facing responsibilities
  • Previous experience using financial planning software such as Right Capital, MoneyGuide Pro, eMoney, or Holistiplan; experience with Riskalyze or comparable risk-tolerance tools a plus
  • Experience using a CRM system such as Salesforce
  • Familiarity with portfolio management and trading platforms such as Tamarac Trading, Tamarac Advisor View, or Schwab Advisor Center, and investment research tools such as YCharts, a plus
  • Excellent time management skills, with the ability to multitask and meet deadlines
  • Active listening and observation skills, with proactive problem-solving abilities
  • An understanding of general business principles, with the ability to review and organize financial documents
