We are hiring! Needed: Two trainee stonemasons

About the role

We are recruiting two new members for our team. One position is for the workshop/warehouse, and the other is for van drivers. A driving license is essential for the van driver role. While relevant experience in carpentry, stone work, or building is helpful, it is not mandatory. Basic numeracy, strong communication skills, and a willingness to work responsibly in a team are crucial. We have successfully hired individuals with little to no prior industry experience before.

Responsibilities

• Workshop/warehouse tasks including carpentry, stone work, and building as needed.
• Van driving responsibilities, including transporting materials and completing deliveries.
• Installing solid stone worktops in customer's homes.
• Selecting appropriate materials from our stocks, marking out, and using specialized NC machinery to cut worktops and other slab stone products.

Requirements

• A valid driving license.
• Basic numeracy skills, especially for spatial awareness and measurements.
• Strong communication skills.
• A willingness to work responsibly in a team.
• Physical fitness and strength, as the role involves handling heavy materials.
• Living within a commutable distance from Gatwick Airport.

Qualifications

The role suits someone who is new to the industry and can work with their hands, demonstrating good attention to detail. Candidates should be able to work safely and follow instructions to handle expensive and heavy raw materials.
